Theodore R. Debro, Jr. is the Retired Deputy Director of the Jefferson County Committee for Economic Opportunity (JCCEO), Birmingham, AL. JCCEO, a non-profit organization, is one of 22 Community Action Agencies (CAA) located throughout the State of Alabama to serve all counties in Alabama. His work at JCCEO included the management and oversight of more than fifteen federal, state and local grants and programs to benefit the low-income needs of Jefferson County. He started several programs at JCCEO to serve at-risk youth including an Entrepreneurial Program, Students Teaching & Reaching (STAR), and YES (Youth Empowering Selves) Program. Ted is on the Board of the National Consumers League of Washington, DC, where he has served as Chairman for two terms. He also holds positions as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Sixteenth Street Baptist Church, a Board member of the St. Vincent East Health Foundation and the 16th Street Foundation and serves as an advisor on Consumer Affairs for four national organizations. Since retirement, Ted has continued his passion for his church by overseeing the restoration and planning for 16th Street Baptist Church through strategic planning and fund acquisition.
